The widest range we carry, and how to choose within it

Cream Deluxe is the only brand here that spans four distinct editions across two formats, which is a strength and a source of confusion in equal measure. The short version: the Gold is the everyday workhorse, Sixth Wave is the flavour range, Black Cobra is the limited edition with a little more gas, and Midnight adds a silent nozzle. All are 99.9% food-grade N₂O and all are sold for lawful culinary use only.

640g and 666g cylinders

  • Cream Deluxe Gold 640g — about 80 charges. The value end of the range and one of our lowest single-cylinder prices.
  • Sixth Wave 666g — about 84 charges, and the widest flavour choice we stock.
  • Midnight Edition 666g — about 84 charges, with a silent nozzle. Worth it in a small open kitchen where the hiss carries.
  • Black Cobra 666g — about 84 charges, limited edition.

The 666g editions carry roughly 4% more gas than a standard 640g. That is a real difference but a small one — pick on flavour and nozzle, not on the 26 grams.

The 2kg Maxxi tanks, and when they actually pay

Cream Deluxe makes two 2kg tanks, Black Cobra Maxxi and Sixth Wave Maxxi, each around 250 charges.

Here is the part most shops do not tell you. On our own current prices, a 666g Cream Deluxe cylinder works out at roughly 6.0¢ per gram of N₂O. The 2kg Maxxi works out at roughly 3.9¢ per gram. That is about 35% less for the same gas. If you are getting through more than two or three cylinders a month, the tank has already paid for itself; if you whip occasionally, the cylinder is the right buy and the tank is dead money sitting in your store cupboard.

Flavoured or unflavoured?

Sixth Wave carries the flavour in the gas, so it arrives with the charge rather than being stirred in. It gives a cleaner finish on desserts and adds no extra liquid to your cream. The trade-off is that a flavoured unit commits the whole cylinder or tank to one flavour — so if you switch flavours mid-service, run unflavoured and infuse separately.

Culinary use only

We sell food-grade nitrous oxide for whipping cream, foams, espumas and rapid infusions. We do not sell it for inhalation, and every order requires confirmation that the buyer is 18 or over and purchasing for lawful food preparation. Our full position is on the legal and compliance page, and when a cylinder is empty please see our disposal and recycling guide — these are steel pressure vessels and must not go in the blue bin.

Common questions about Cream Deluxe

What is the difference between Cream Deluxe Gold, Sixth Wave, Black Cobra and Midnight?

Gold is the everyday 640g cylinder at the value end. Sixth Wave is the flavour range. Black Cobra is a limited edition at 666g. Midnight is a 666g cylinder with a silent nozzle. All are 99.9% food-grade N2O; they differ in flavour, finish and nozzle rather than in gas quality.

Is the 666g really better than a 640g?

It carries about 4% more gas, which is roughly four extra charges. That is a genuine difference but a small one. Choose on flavour and nozzle rather than on the 26 grams.

How many charges does a Cream Deluxe cylinder give?

About 80 from the 640g Gold and about 84 from the 666g editions, based on a standard 8g charge. The 2kg Maxxi tanks give about 250. Real yield varies with your dispenser, cream temperature and how much gas you vent.

Is the 2kg Maxxi cheaper than buying cylinders?

Yes, on our current prices by roughly 35% per gram of gas - about 3.9 cents per gram against about 6.0 cents for a 666g cylinder. It only pays if you use the volume; for occasional whipping the cylinder is the better buy.

Does the flavour in Sixth Wave affect the cream?

It arrives with the gas rather than being stirred in, so it adds no extra liquid and gives a cleaner finish. The trade-off is that the whole unit is committed to that flavour.

Is Cream Deluxe food grade?

Yes. Every unit we stock is 99.9% food-grade nitrous oxide and sold for lawful culinary use only.
