Rotass cream chargers & cylinders

Rotass is the highest purity specification we stock: 99.95% N₂O rather than the 99.9% industry baseline, produced under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. We carry the 640g (0.95L) cylinder and the 2000g (3.3L) handled tank, both unflavoured. If purity documentation matters for your own audits, this is the range to look at first.

The highest purity we stock — and, unusually, the cheapest gas we sell

Rotass is the only brand in our range filled to 99.95% food-grade N₂O rather than the 99.9% everything else runs. That is a small numerical difference and a real one in the glass: fewer trace impurities means a cleaner, more neutral taste, which matters most on delicate work — unsweetened creams, light mousses, clear infusions where there is nothing to hide behind.

What makes Rotass worth singling out is that the purity does not cost extra. On our current prices the Rotass Whip 2000g tank works out at about 24¢ per charge — the lowest cost per serving of anything in our catalogue, premium brands included. Highest purity and lowest cost per charge in the same product is not the normal trade-off.

The two Rotass units

  • Rotass Whip 640g — 0.95L, about 80 charges, 99.95% purity. The clean-tasting choice for a small kitchen or for pastry work where the cream is the point.
  • Rotass Whip 2000g tank — 3.3L, about 250 charges, integrated carry handle. Our best value per charge, full stop.

The gap between them is the clearest trade-up case in the range: about 52¢ per charge from the cylinder, about 24¢ from the tank. If you are running real volume, the tank costs you less than half per serving for the same gas at the same purity.

Does purity actually matter?

Honest answer: for sweetened whipped cream on a dessert, you will struggle to tell 99.9% from 99.95%. Where it shows is in neutral and delicate applications — a plain Chantilly, a clear infusion, anything where an off-note has nowhere to hide. If your menu lives in that territory, Rotass is the one to run. If it does not, our value-tier cylinders will whip identically and cost less upfront.

Culinary use only

We sell food-grade nitrous oxide for whipping cream, foams, espumas and infusions. We do not sell it for inhalation, and every order requires confirmation that the buyer is 18 or over and purchasing for lawful food preparation. Common questions about Rotass

What makes Rotass different from other cream chargers?

Purity. Rotass is filled to 99.95% food-grade N2O where the rest of our range runs 99.9%. It is the highest purity we stock, and unusually it is also the cheapest per charge.

Is the Rotass 2000g tank good value?

It is the best value per charge in our entire catalogue, at about 24 cents per charge against about 52 cents for the 640g cylinder. Less than half the cost per serving for the same gas at the same purity.

Does 99.95% purity actually taste different from 99.9%?

On sweetened whipped cream, you will struggle to tell. On neutral or delicate work such as a plain Chantilly or a clear infusion, fewer trace impurities give a cleaner finish. Choose on your menu, not on the number.

How many charges does a Rotass cylinder give?

About 80 from the 640g and about 250 from the 2000g tank, based on a standard 8g charge. Yield varies with your dispenser, cream temperature and venting.

Is Rotass food grade?

Yes, 99.95% food-grade nitrous oxide, sold for lawful culinary use only.
